Lookin’ Good and Feelin’ Great With PRP Rejuvenation!

At the Health and Healing Center, we know that feeling good about how you look on the outside makes a world of difference in regard to your inner health! That’s why we’ve added two new offerings to our aesthetic medicine techniques: hair regrowth and stretch mark reduction PRP Rejuvenation.

  • Are you covering up by:
  • Not wearing a bikini due to unsightly stretch marks?
  • Slathering on make-up (or wishing you could) to cover up acne scars?
  • Wearing a hat or wig in public because your not finding hair loss to be debonair?

Uncovering, safely and effectively:

We can use cells from your own body to regenerate skin, smooth scar tissue and regenerate hair growth using your own cells to make Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP). This is the same technique that is used in our PRP non-surgical facial rejuvenation that reduces fine lines and lifts and restores the healthy glow to facial skin.

What is involved?

The procedure involves a blood draw, such as done for collection of blood for laboratory testing. The blood is centrifuged, separating the red blood cells from the plasma, which contains platelets. The plasma is extracted and the platelets are activated with a solution so they release growth factors.

The platelet rich plasma is then used to inject into areas where tissue regeneration is desired. Topical numbing cream is applied prior to the injections. The growth-factor rich solution is also applied topically and driven into the skin via perforations with microneedles.

The growth factors in the PRP stimulate unipotent stem cells in your body’s tissues to grow new cells and stimulate new blood vessel formation, creating healthier, glowing revitalized skin. If we’re focusing on hair regrowth, a special additive is used to stimulate regeneration of hair follicles.

PRP rejuvenation therapy can be combined with other therapies, such as low-level light therapy (LLLT), and various pharmaceuticals used for hair regrowth. For an even more dramatic younger appearance, PRP facial rejuvenation is often used with purified botulinum toxin A, also known as BOTOX®. Botox is used to relax the muscles, which temporarily improves the appearance of both moderate to severe frown lines between the brows and moderate to severe crow’s feet in adults.

The best part is there is very little downtime and the effects are longer lasting since your body is creating and maintaining its own tissue.

PRP Rejuvenation can be utilized to:

  • Stimulate hair growth
  • Fill in acne scars
  • Decrease the appearance of stretch marks
  • Decrease the lines on the forehead.
  • Decrease the number 11 sign between the brow (glabellar lines).
  • Augment the cheeks and reshape the face.
  • Decrease crow’s feet (periorbital lines)
  • Decrease nasolabial folds
  • Decrease smile lines
  • Smooth the edge of the mouth (vermillion border)
  • Decrease the lines from the corners of the mouth to the chin (marionette lines)
  • Augment the chin

So if you are wondering whom that stranger looking back at you in the mirror is, maybe it’s time to take some measures to fight the ravages of time. There’s nothing like feeling good and looking great!
